Kitty Brunell was only 17 years old when she drove her Talbot AG 14/45 Weymann Sunshine Coupe in the 1929 Monte Carlo Rally, making her the youngest-ever driver in it until that time - and possibly of all time..!
Alongside her as navigator was her father W.J. (Bill) Brunell - possibly the greatest British automotive-photographer of his day: the weather that year was truly appalling, with some of the competitors finding it difficult even to reach the John o' Groats starting-point - much less to reach Monte Carlo, and to do so in time to qualify as official finishers as the Brunells did...
In both the 1928 and 1929 Monte Carlo Rallies, the Brunells won the Photographic Competition.
