Hear Georges Roesch speak! 7th May 2022

In 1967, Hugh Conway, the then President of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, interviewed Georges Roesch about his career. 

The tape has lain undisturbed since then; the only opportunity to hear it was to visit the IMechE in London and listen to the original reel-to-reel recording. The Talbot Owners' Club is delighted and excited that the IMechE has now been able to locate and digitise this important piece of Talbot and automobile industry history and it is now available for everyone to hear.

Swiss-born Georges Roesch, who we remember as the gifted Chief Engineer of Clement Talbot for nearly twenty years, created some of the company's most famous and influential models. Prior to joining Talbot, he had worked his way up through the fledgling motor car industry working for such influential companies as Delaunay-Belleville, Daimler and Renault. His story is the story of an industry's early days.

This is the first time that the IMechE has digitised a recording in their archive and opens a whole new field of interest. We are indebted to the ImechE for making this recording publicly available.
